FAQs

Medical acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment I use alongside physiotherapy. It involves inserting ultra-fine, sterile needles into specific points in the body to relieve pain, reduce tension, and support healing. It’s especially useful for:

  • Back and neck pain
  • Joint or muscle injuries
  • Shoulder tension
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Sports and overuse injuries

Medial acupuncture relaxes muscles by targeting tight, painful areas known as “trigger points.” A very thin needle is inserted directly into these knots within the muscle. This causes a brief twitch response, which helps reset the muscle’s tone and relieves tension.

The process increases blood flow, reduces local inflammation, and encourages the muscle to relax. As a result, pain decreases and mobility improves.

If appropriate, I’ll recommend acupuncture as part of your treatment. The needles are very fine and usually painless. Most people feel a light tingle, warmth, or mild ache — a good sign the body is responding.

Sessions are usually well tolerated and often relaxing. Many people notice benefits within a few treatments.

Acupuncture can be helpful whether you’re recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, or just want to move more freely.
